Field Trips
We will be going on 4 different field trips and having a guest speaker come to us. The cost will include the admission, the bus, and the bus driver. Field Trips are subject to change and information regarding them will be sent home closer to the field trip dates. Below is a list of the scheduled field trips for the 2008-2009 school year and the cost if available.
Childsplay: Students will see the play "Ms. Nelson is Missing" based on the book.
Wildlife Wrold Zoo: Spring 2009 This field trip concludes our trips for the year as we use it to help with our animal reports.
Arizona Academic Standards: Science - Strand 4: Life Science, Concept 1: Characteristics of Organisms PO 1. Identify animal structures that serve different function, Concept 2: Life Cycles
Desert Botanical Gardens: March 11, 2009 This field trip concludes our trips for the year as we learn about the life cycles of desert plants and animals. The trip includes the Butterfly Pavilion where the second graders can explore the various types of butterflies. The trip ties into our unit on the life cycle of the butterfly.

Guest Speakers
Anthony Reynoso: Spring 2008 A roping cowboy who lives here in the valley will visit and perform his roping tricks. We will read a story about him and his family in our reading textbook the same week. The story was written when he was 9 and he is now 22.
